Pass the PEDALL Festival 2025

Pedallers came together to celebrate and support inclusive cycling in the heart of the New Forest at New Park, Brockenhurst.

This one-day fundraising community event was all about cycling for everyone, regardless of ability. Participants helped raise funds and awareness for PEDALL, an inspiring initiative that supports riders with additional needs in the beautiful New Forest. Whether you were a cycling enthusiast, a local business, or simply someone passionate about cycling for all, there was something for everyone at this fun-filled day!

We have currently fundraised a total of £8,200 with a target of £10k.

What happened

What an incredible day!

Riders at PEDALL’s community fundraising event more than doubled a collective target of pedalling 1,407km in 12 hours. Supporters, sponsors, and cyclists of all ages and abilities helped raise £8,200 to date, with donations still open and with hopes to reach the £10,000 fundraising target.

Around 400 people attended the Pass the PEDALL event on Saturday 27 September at New Park Showground, Brockenhurst where they enjoyed a festival atmosphere complete with food and drink vendors, community groups, and local cycle providers.

A collective distance of more than 3,200km was reached at the dawn until dusk challenge – the equivalent of riding from Land’s End to John O’Groats and back, plus some – using PEDALL’s fleet of specialist cycles.

How you got involved

Young people at the event rode more than 600km and brought an extra level of fun and competitive energy in their quest to earn prizes from lead sponsor, Chase the Sun.

Friends, families, and volunteers lined the start-finish straight of the one-kilometre New Park track to cheer riders on and ring bells for every successful lap.

Regular riding groups including SCARF New Forest (Supporting Children with Additional Needs, Relatives and Friends) and Dementia Friendly Hampshire joined the PEDALL team, as well as individuals and groups who booked timeslots or paid on the day.

The one-day celebration built on the success of 2024’s inaugural event to celebrate inclusive and responsible cycling and wellbeing in the National Park – now it its 20th anniversary year.

Why we did this

All proceeds from the event supported our mission to provide inclusive cycling opportunities to over 5,000 riders each year. From our expanded fleet of bikes to our growing team of volunteers, PEDALL remained a vital part of the New Forest cycling community. The day celebrated all that we achieved together! For riders with additional needs, Pass the PEDALL offered an opportunity to meet new people, challenge themselves, and celebrate their accomplishments with pride.

Local cycle clubs, volunteers, and businesses came together to help make the event a true community celebration. We couldn’t have done it without their incredible support.

Enabling everyone to enjoy the New Forest

Everyone was invited

Members of the public got involved too – donating to ride, enjoying the fun, and cheering on the riders. PEDALL relied on passionate volunteers and supporters, and many people helped make the day unforgettable.

The event brought together the entire New Forest community for a day of cycling, fun, and making a real difference.
